Abstract

This paper studies electric power consumption and introduces the index of electric power consumption per unit output value (EPC/UOV). Based on the data of output value growth and electric power consumption during the 1996-2000 and 2001-2004 period in Shanghai, it objectively evaluates the efficiency of electric power consuming and the effect of energy saving so as to grasp the focal point of energy saving, as well as to have a definite objective to tap the potential of energy saving, and finally to realize the goal of building a resource saving city of Shanghai.
