Abstract
Objective To evaluate effect and methods of phototherapeutic keratectomy(PTK)on corneal epithelial ingrowth under the lamellar flap in the eyes after laser in situ keratomileusis(LASIK)treatment.Methods Erasion of ingrowth epithelium and PTK treatment were performed,followed by contact lens used for 3 to 5 days in 4 eyes of severe corneal epithelial ingrowth after LASIK.The 4 eyes were followed-up for 10 to 24 months.Results Epithelium ingrowth was removed in the 4 eyes,and no recurrence occurs in the follow-up period.All patients regain best corrected visual acuity.No irritation or dazzle exists.Conclusions Erasion of ingrowth epithelium and PTK treatment,followed by contact lens wearing is effective on treating epitelial ingrowth after LASIK.
