Abstract
【Objective】 The research was to study the effects of 17-β-Estradiol on IFN-γ in anterior pituitary of ovariectomized rat.【Method】 Rats were divided into three groups, namely control group, ovariectomized group and group treated with 17-β-Estradiol.Immunohistochemical SP method was used to investigate the intensity of IFN-γ like immunoreactive substance in anterior pituitary of ovariectomized and treated with 17-β-Estradiol rats.【Result】 As a result,in different periods after ovariectomy, contrast with the control group, the expression of IFN-γ in anterior pituitary of the ovariectomized group was significantly decreased. After being treated with 17-β-Estradiol,the expression of IFN-γ had a remarkble increase and almost returned to the normal level in the fourth week.【Conclusion】 All the results illustrated that estradiol had a remarkable effect on IFN-γ like immunoreactive substance in rat anterior pituitary, and it seemed that part of estradiol' effects on anterior pituitary might be mediated by regulating the expression of IFN-γ.
