Abstract
A cassiterite ore from Hunan province contains 0. 678% Sn and 0. 474% Cu and the primary Snbearing mineral in the ore is cassiterite, which is closely associated with all other gangues; moreover, parts of the cassiterites are ultrafinely disseminated in iron minerals and gangues. Aflotation-magnetic separation-gravity concentrationflowsheet is proposed to treat this refractory cassiterite sulphide ore. It was found that this flowsheet achieves a cassiterite concentrate assaying 50. 03% Sn with 55. 69% recovery and a copper concentrate assaying16. 80% Cu with 78. 32% recovery, respectively, and thus provides an effective method for the utilization of such ores.
