Abstract
[Objective]To study the prevalence of hypertension in different level and the risk factors of hypertension among adult residents in Gansu province.[Methods]6 672 adult residents over 35 years old were selected by multistage stratified random sampling, and investigated with questionnaires, physical examination and cardiovascular examination from 2004 to 2007. The univariate chi-square test and multivariate conditional logistic regression were used to analyze hypertension with SPSS 17.0 software.[Results]The univariate analysis indicated that the prevalence of hypertension was 19.0%,11.8% and 6.4% for grade 1,2 and 3 hypertention respectively which increased with age rising, except 55 age group in grade 3. The standardized rate of hypertension was 36.1%,36.0% in men and 36.9% in women. The prevalence of hypertension was more severe in men than woman for grade 1,2(P﹤0.01),and in cities than countries for grade 1,2,3(P﹤0.01),and related with obesity and central obesity but in obesity was higher than in central obesity(P﹤0.01). The multiple logistic regression analysis indicated that the risk factors of hypertension in residents were the peasantry, age, the history of hypertension, seafood, pulse, overweight and obese, central obesity,BV(blood viscosity),cardiac output, except pulse was the protective factor.[Conclusion]The residents should improve the conscious of self health care, and form good live style habits and individual behavior, especially weight loss.
