Investigation and Analysis on the University Students' Involvement in Extracurricular Sports

The present study, by means of literature review, questionnaires, statistics, and logical reasoning, tries to investigate into the students' involvement in extracurricular sports in West Anhui University. The findings show that the university students take an inactive attitude towards the extracurricular sports, and thus the participation proportion is not so ideal; students' motive, the involved events, participations, time, place, and restrictions, etc. are quite different; male and female students differ greatly in their involvement in after-class sports. It is so suggested that the school should make efforts to do some practical work, for example, improvement of playgrounds and sports equipment, organization and management of students' sports clubs, arrangement of students' extracurricular sports, to educate and guide the students to take part in extracurricular sports.
