Abstract
Objective:To study ultrasound,CT and MRI findings of orbital cavernous hemangioma and investigate their value in the diagnosis. Methods:Ultrasound,CT and MR images were reviewed and analyzed on 30 cases with cavernous hemangioma, which were comfirmed by pathology. Results:Ultrasound displayed the round shape of the tumor, multitude echo, attenuation of sound diminishing, condensability, short of bloodstream signals;CT displayed the location of the tumor at muscular orbitalis cone, soft tissue density, transparent triangular area in orbital apex, and progressive enhancement by dynamic enhancement;MRI was particularly useful in revealing the relationship of tumor with the ocular muscles and optic nerve. Conclusion:Since ultrasound can reveal the histological category of the tumor and CT and MRI can locate exactly,it is suggested to diagnose cavernous hemangioma by combining CT or MRI with ultrasound.
