Investigation on HGB of healthy adults in different altitude in plateau

Abstract

Objective To analyze the correlation between HGB in adult and different heights in plateau.Methods Healthy adults who lived in different altitudes in plateau for 3~5 years were selected and their venous blood samples were analyzed.All the samples in plateau were then divided into 3 groups: Group 1: Lhasa and Nachitai with the altitude of 3000m~3900m;Group 2: Dangxiong,Tuotuohe,Mt.Kunlun and Anduo with the altitude of 4 000 m~4 900 m;Group 3: Wudaoliang and Tanggula with the altitude of 5000m~5900m.The difference of HGB in each group was analyzed.Results The value of HGB in plain was significantly different from that in plateau(P0.01).B ut there was no significant difference in each group with the same altitude(P0.05).Conclusions The correlation between the value of HGB and altitude is positive.The value of human HGB rises when the height above sea level rises,and the plateau environment and oxygen-poor are the main factor to affect the value of HGB.
