Abstract
In order to accelerate the deployment and solve the existing problems of multicast, there has been proposed application-level multicast. It shifts the multicast ability from routers to the end hosts, therefore routers need not maintain the routing table and does not modify the infrastcture of the current network. The multicast function is easily fulfilled. This paper depicts the existing application-level multicast, evaluates and compares with them.In the end the prospect and the future work is discussed.
