Metabolic Characteristics on Puerarin of Chinese Herbal Compound in Meat Pigeons in vivo

Abstract

High performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) was used to study the metabolic characteristics of puerasin of Geyin compound preparation in meat pigeons,which were given 120 mg puerasin per kg of pigeon weight by stomach catheter,and then evaluated the interaction effects with pharmacokinetic parameters. Puerarin concentration was detected and its pharmacokinetic parameters were calculated and analyzed by 3P87 program. The puerarin could be determined after 15 min of given medicine and the maximum concentration appeared around 1.5 to 4 h. The data of drug-time of puerarin were accord with two-compartment model. The main pharmacokinetic parameters of liquid preparation were t1/2α=1.422022 h,t1/2β=7.862796 h,Cmax=0.732025 μg/L,Tpeak=1.818334 h;on the other hand,the main pharmacokinetic parameters of Chinese herbal compound were t1/2α=2.128758 h,t1/2β=5.108140 h,Cmax=1.037176 μg/L,Tpeak=1.383717 h. The results showed that puerarin of Geyin compound preparation could be absorbed quickly and had great absorption effects.
