Abstract
In order to study the impact on regional groundwater dynamics in a river diversion, the water balance method is used to evaluate the water balance of the area affected by the river realignment, and the numerical simulation on the groundwater level of the study area has been conducted for10 years by the MODFLOW software.According to the calculation results of water balance, there is a little change in the groundwater recharge and discharge of the study area after realigning of the river, and a little effect on the river down stream's groundwater recharge.Compared with the groundwater level after10 years of the original river and realignment river in the study area, the groundwater flow field and groundwater depth area are not changed significantly, the drawdown change of groundwater level is also very small. The results show that after realigning of the river, the regional groundwater's spatial distribution pattern would not be changed significantly, and the dynamic impact on groundwater flow in the study area would also be smaller.
