Abstract
Objective To verify the antimicrobial spectrum of Cefepime and to study the foregroud and the clinical significance of Cefepine. Methods The minimal inhibitory cocentrations (MICs)of Cefepime against 40 clinical isolates were detemind by E test and the antimicrobial activity of Cefepime was compared with others. Results The activity of Cefepime was stronger than that of “the thirdgeneration” cephalosporins against enterobactercaceae, and sinilar th ceftazidime against Pseudomonas aeeruginoza. It was showed that Cefepime had been very acture agqainst Oxacillin susceptible staphylococci(MIC is 3 mirograms/L). Conclusions The antimicrobial activity of Cefepime is stronger than that of “the third generation” cephalosporins not only against gram negative bacilli but also against gram positivecocci.[
