Abstract
Diabetic nephropathy is one of common chronic complication of Diabetes. The basic pathological changes are kidney hypertrophy, glomerular capillary basement membrane thickening, and glomerular and tubular extracellular matrix(ECM)progressive accumulation.Pathogenesis of DN is not yet clearly, the research found that there were genetic, environmental and immune factors. In recent years, transforming growth factor β(TGF-β)in the role of diabetic nephropathy has been widespread concern.TGF-β can induce glomerular hypertrophy, extracellular matrix accumulation, promote glomerulosclerosis and interstitial fibrosis. In this paper, the role of TGF-β in diabetic nephropathy and adopt TGF-β antagonist in the treatment of diabetic nephropathy research are reviewed.
