Arterial Embolization in Treament of Traumatic Renal Hemorrhage

Abstract

Objective: To access the efficacy and safety of arterial embolization treatment for traumsatic renal hemorrhage.Method:10 cases of acute injury hemorrhage were demonstrated by renal angiography.By superselective catheterization,all the cases were treated with embolization with gelfaom or gelfaom combined with coil.Result: All patients were treated successfully with this method,hemorrhage was stopped immediately.9 patients kept the kidney,with 1 case embolized the main stem of kidney artery and undergoing surgical resection of the traumatic kidney afterwards.Conclusion:Renal arterial embolization is a safe and effective means for treating traumatic renal hemorrhage.
