Abstract
Objective To investigate the safety and therapeutic effect of percutaneous nephrolithotomy(PCNL) in bolique supine position for the treatment of senile and high-risk patients with kidney stones. Methods The data of 32 senile and high-risk patients with kidney stones treated with percutaneous nephrolithotomy in oblique supine position between March 2007 and October 2011,were analysed retrospectively. They were treated preoperatively to minimize risk of operation, then performed pereutaneous nephrolithotomy in oblique supine position. Results All the procedures were performed successfully. The operative time was 12-75 min(mean 45 min). The mean hospital stay was 8.6 d,26 cases were rendered free of stones by initial PCNL,and PCNL was performed in 3 cases to clear the residual stones, other 3 cases by ESWL.The stone free rate was 87.5%.There were no severe hemorhage in these cases,no pelvic or ureter perforation was recorded, one case required blood transfusion, fever happened postoperatively in 5 cases. Conclusions Percutaneous nephrolithotomy in oblique supine position has less trauma and high safety advantages, especially for the senile,high-risk patients with kidney stones.
