Abstract
Expanded flame-retardant composites were prepared by using ammonium polyphosphate(APP)21%,melamine(MEL)4%,charring agent 5% and high density polyethylene(HDPE).The effect of different charring agent on mechanical properties, combustion properties and thermal stability as well as carbon layer of composites been studied. The results showed that glycol charring agent not only improved the efficiency of flame retardant but also increased the impact property of composite.
