Miao Ethnic Group's Heroic Epic King Yalu in the Era of Media

King Yalu,as an old story,has been circulated in Mashan area in Guizhou province through many generations.In early 2012.with the first volume published,the history of Miao without epic was rewritten,this is a great success in protection of the oral cultural heritage.Through field study and participating the spiritual ceremony of chanting King Yalu,it is understood that how the participants complete the process of meaning generation and emotional transmission through verbal communication;and the co-existence of the past and the present,as well as the seamlessness of the age of myth and the era of media,can be experienced through the ceremony.King Yalu is not only the Bible of Miao people,but their encyclopedia and genealogy as well.The exploration and research of King Yalu can provide valuable theoretical thoughts for the development of epic study home and abroad.
