Abstract
Objective: To investigate the relationship between school organizational climate and teacher’s organizational commitment.Methods: 561 teachers from elementary and secondary schools in Guangzhou city were investigated with Organizational Climate Questionnaire of Elementary and Secondary School and Teacher’s Organizational Commitment Questionnaire of Elementary and Secondary School;delaminating regression,dominance analysis and varience analysis were employed.Results: ① Organizational climate would make new contribution to predict teacher’s organizational commitment after control of demography factor.② Supportive climate made the most contribution to predict the 5 dimensions of effective commitment,climatic commitment,developing commitment,normative commitment and administrative commitment.③ Teacher’s organizational commitment in a school with energic climate was significantly higher than that with slack climate in all 5 dimensions of TOC;effective commitment in a school with agglomerate climate was significantly higher than that with slack climate,effective commitment in a school with a agglomerate type of climate was significantly higher than that with a slack type;climatic commitment,developing commitment and administrative commitment in the school with energic climate were significantly higher than that with agglomerate climate.Conclusion: TOC would be boosted by optimizing organizational climate,and headmaster’s supportive behaviors is the most importmant factor.
