Abstract
Objective To investigate the application of color doppler ultrasonography to evaluate the renal function in children of hydronephrotic kidney. Methods The renal artery blood flow parameter and the renal cortical thickness were examined by color doppler ultrasonography in 103 children with hydronephrotic kidney, and renal cortical thickness(RCT) ratio and renal artery resistive index(RI) ratio were calculated, then compared with the results of renal function. Results There were significant differences between hydronephrotic kidney group and normal group in Vmax,Vmin and RI of renal artery(P0.001).The RCT and RCTR between anomalous renal function group and normal renal function group were statistical significant(P0.01),and so were between anomalous renal function group and normal group. The RIR between anomalous renal function group and normal renal function group, anomalous renal function group and normal group were statistical significant(P0.05).Abnormal renal function was diagnosed by RCTR≤0.85 and RIR≥1.10,the sensitivity and specificity in evaluation of anomalous renal function of hydronephrotic kidney were 88% and 93% respectively. Conclusion The resistive index ratio and renal cortical thickness ratio has higher sensitivity and specificity in evaluation of renal function in children of hydronephrotic kidney.
