Abstract
Objective To investigate the incidence of hyperuricemia in healthy adults and its related risk factors in Fuzhou.Methods The subjects who were ≥20 year-old and received physical examination at our hospital from November 2008 to August 2009 were enrolled.Following information were recorded:gender,age,body mass index(BMI),systolic blood pressure,diastolic blood pressure,serum creatinine,blood urea nitrogen,fasting blood glucose,uric acid,triglycerides,total cholesterol,high density lipoprotein-cholesterol(HDL-C) and low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol(LDL-C).The incidence of hyperuricemia was calculated.Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to determine the relationship between hyperuricemia and related risk factors.Results After adjusted with age,the incidence of hyperuricemia was 20.31% in the enrolled 9581 healthy subjects with 28.53% in men and 9.68% in women respectively.Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that male,obesity,lower eGFR,hypertension and hypertriglyceridemia were independently associated with hyperuricemia(OR 0.349,1.692,11.745,1.259,2.153,respectively;all P0.01).With the increment of the components of metabolic syndrome,the incidence of hyperuricemia was increased.Conclusion The incidence of hyperuricemia was 20.31% in our studied healthy subjects.Male,obesity,lower eGFR,hypertension and hypertriglyceridemia were independent risk factors for hyperuricemia.
