Abstract

The reaction of 2,2'-bipyridine-4,4'-dicarboxylic acid(H2bpdc) and ZnSO4·7H_2O under hydrothermal condition leads to a three-dimensional Zn(Ⅱ) coordination polymer [Zn(bpdc)(H2O)2]n(1) with two-fold interpenetrated(12,3)-networks topology.X-ray single crystal structural analysis reveals that 1 crystallizes in the trigonal system and belongs to space group P3221,with a = 1.190 0(6),c = 0.831 9(9) nm,V =1.020 3(13) nm3,Z = 3,Dc= 1.678 g cm-3,F(000) = 522,the final R1 = 0.031 6 and wR2 = 0.064 2 for 126 6 observed reflections with I ≥ 2s(I).1 is stable up to 300 ℃,and exhibits intense emission at 450 nm when excited at 290 nm in solid state at room temperature.
