Abstract

The operation principle and the basic theoretical formulas of the high-power,waveguide-type thermocouple power meter are presented.A new structure of resisting RF choke is designed to reduce the sensitivity of the power meter to the frequency.Besides, suggestions are given for the adjustment and use of the power meter. An X-band power meter for the inspection of the power of the radar transmitter is introduced.Within 10% of the band, the power meter performs well in its frequency response characteristic with its pulse-endurance power being 20kW,average power being 200W,and VSWR being less than 1.05.
