An Analysis of the Racism in American Literature at the End of the 19th and the Early of the 20th Century

Abstract

After the Reconstruction,the antebellum white plantation owners regained the control of the southern politics,and the prejudice and discrimination against the blacks ran high in American society.This was also mirrored in the American literature at the time.The essay is a detailed comparison and discussion of the main novels and the protagonists of Mark Twain and Tom Dixon and it exposes the racism in American literature.
