Abstract

OBJECTIVE To explore the etiology of viral hepatitis among the patients with alcoholic hepatitis so as to provide evidence for the prevention and treatment of hepatitis.METHODS The clinical data of 1472 cases with alcoholic hepatitis were reviewed. The etiology examination was tested by enzyme-linked immunoassay.RESULTS Totally 188 out of 1472 cases were infected by various types of viruses, accounting for 12.77%.126 male cases and 62 female cases were infected, accounting for 67.02% and 32.98%,respectively.Totally 149 cases with single infection and 22 cases with mixed infections were found, accounting for 79.26% and 11.70%,respectively,and 17(9.04%) cases were infected by no(A~E) hepatitis viruses. The hepatitis A virus or hepatitis B virus were the most common among the patients with single infections, accounting for 52.13% and 14.36%,respectively.Among the cases with mixed infections,17 cases with dual infections,4 cases with triple infections, and 1 case with quadruple infections were found, accounting for 77.27%,18.18% and 4.55%,respectively.The hepatitis A virus mixed with hepatitis B virus and hepatitis B virus mixed with hepatitis D virus were the most common in the patients with the mixed infections, accounting for 22.73% and 18.18%,respectively.CONCLUSION The incidence of viral hepatitis is high in the patients with alcoholic hepatitis, and the hepatitis B virus is shown to be the predominant pathogen contributing to the viral hepatitis. But the mixed infections are serious. We should focus on screening the hepatitis B virus, and strengthen the detection of undifferentiated hepatitis.
