Diagnostic Value of Detecting Pleural Fluid Adenosine Deaminase,Total Protein,Lactate Dehydrogenase,and Alkaline Phosphatase in Tuberculous Pleurisy

Abstract

Objective To discuss the diagnostic value of detection of pleural fluid adenosine deaminase(ADA),lactate dehydrogenase(LDH),total protein(TP) and alkaline phosphatase(ALP) in tuberculous pleurisy.Methods Pleural fluid ADA,LDH,TP and ALP were detected by Olympus AU2700 automatic biochemical analyzer.The operation was performed strictly in accordance with the specification.Results There were statistically significant differences in ADA activity between tuberculosis patients and non-tuberculosis patients(P0.05).No statistically significant difference was found in the detection results of TP,LDH and ALP between tuberculosis patients and non-tuberculosis patients(P0.05).Conclusions ADA activity detection in pleural fluid is a better indicator for differential diagnosis of tuberculous pleurisy and non-tuberculous pleurisy.It is not too meaningful to determine pleural fluid LDH,TP and ALP in differentiation between tuberculous pleurisy and non-tuberculous pleurisy.
