Abstract
To research the dynamic response of asphalt pavement subjected to the moving vehicle loads,a three-dimensional finite element model in transient dynamic mode of viscoelastic asphalt pavement was developed with the large-scale finite element software ABAQUS.Some mechanical response of pavement induced by moving load was analyzed. The effect of dynamic response on the pavement under the condition of the vehicle different loads running at different speeds on different pivoting position on the vehicle loads were analyzed. The simulation results are compared with test results. The result indicates that, the dynamic response in pavement structure subjected to moving load exhibits wave characteristics. And as the speed of vehicle loads is increased, the stress response shows a decrease trend. In addition, transverse loading position has effect on the dynamic response, this has important influences on the tests. Finally, simulation results were compared with those of the experiments, and the viscoelastic FEM model subjected to the moving vehicle loads simulates the structure behavior of pavement well.
