Abstract

Since 1970s and 1980s,there have been some cultural conflicts between multiculturalism/multicultural education and traditional thinking.The former is in favor of cultural diversity and more representation of the marginalized groups such as minorities and women.The latter holds that conformity is necessary to the unity of a nation and that multiculturalism will finally lead to the disuniting of the United States.
