Abstract

The salt-sensitive wheat cultivar LM15 was used to examine the effect of exogenous hydrogen sulfide on seed germination rate, germination index, vigor index and seedlings growth under salt stress. The results showed that seed pretreatment with exogenous H2S could alleviate the NaCl-induced seed germination inhibiton and seedlings growth, seed priming with 0.01~0.13 mmol/L NaHS for 12 hours alleviated the seed germination rate significantly, germination index, vigor index and growth of seedlings of wheat under 100 mmol/L NaCl stress. The optimal concentration of NaHS was 0.05 mmol/L.
