Abstract
Objective To make a simple comparison between bone mineral density(BMD) and femoral neck strength(FS) in diagnosis of osteoporosis. Methods Two hundred perimenopausal women were enrolled in this study. The correlation among BMD,body weight, age, and FS was analyzed.According to the T-scores of BMD and FS,a simple comparison was made between BMD and FS in osteoporosis diagnosis. Results The results of BMD diagnosis and FS diagnosis were consistent approximately in the majority(65.3%).Conclusions It is of great value to combining BMD with FS for diagnosis of osteoporosis.
