Abstract
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and adverse effects of all-trans retinoic acid(ATRA) and arsenic trioxide(ATO) in the treatment of newly diagnosed acute promyelocytic leukemia(APL).Methods 57 patients were treated with ATRA combined with ATO,then observed the efficacy and adverse effects. Results 54 patients reached CR,2 PR and 1 NR.CR rate was 94.74%.The time of achieving complete remission by ATRA combined with ATO was 22~41 days and median time to achieve CR was on 29.2 days. Conclusions ATRA and ATO in the treatment of APL was effective and well tolerated.
