The Study of Children’s Personality Characteristics in Different Family Structures

Abstract

Objective To explore children's personality characteristics and its difference in different family structures.Method By EPQ (children version),240 children in different family structures were investigated.Results The differences of scorces only in psychoticsm subscale are signaficant between boys and girls(t=7.07,P0.01);Children's scores in psychoticsm are corresponding with the grade advancement,and the difference is signaficant(F=4.26,P0.01).The scores in psychoticsm subscale of children in normal family are lower than children in left-behind and fostered family and the difference is signaficant(F=4.02,P0.05);however,it is higher than children in left-behind and fostered family in lie subscale and the difference is signaficant(F=4.07,P0.05).Conclusion Children's personality is influenced by gender,grade or demographic variable,and children’s personality characteristics did exist in different family structures.
