Literary Worship and Appeal for Morality

Jinshi subject in the Imperial Examination System was revered and respected in the civil adminstration of government established in Tang Dynasty.The literati gained more value and status in society.The society remained ambiguous on the literary fashion.In the mid and late Tang Dynasty,the style of writing became pretensious and unrealistic,and the fashion of literary worship became more popularized,which led to problems of literati's self-cultivation and behavior and religion.Therefore,the demand for moral orientation and actual performance got stronger and in societreligion.A literary reform movement started from the mid Tang Dynasty made a theoretical preparation for the reconstruction and promotion of morality poetics in Song Dynasty.It has profound significance.
