Abstract

With the in-depth study of the pathogenesis of multiple sclerosis(MS),more new ideas of MS therapy have been developed.Drugs such as fingolimod, glatiramer acetate,interferon-β,mitoxantrone,and natalizumab have been approved for MS treatment by the United States Food and Drug Administration(FDA).Their clinical trials have shown their superior efficacy than traditional agents, although further safety assessment for these new agents is still needed. Some other agents including alemtuzumab,BG-12,teriflunomide,daclizumab,laquinimod,and specific monoclonal antibodies(ocrelizumab and ofatumumab) are also expected to enter clinical practice.Early intensive treatment and combinational therapies are new strategies for patients with MS.
