Abstract
“Collections of Articles” has been regarded as the ancestry of the literary anthology, while “Literary Selections” was inherited from it but with difference. In literary notions, “Literary Selections” regarded articles as something “changeable”, while “Collection of Articles” considered that the articles originated from the five classics. In literary category and operation, “Literary Selections” did not collect articles from the classics, the histories and the Confucius, but the “Collection of Articles” might have recorded words from the five classics. “Collection of Articles” values the words of the ancient time but despise the words of today, while the “Literary Selections” thought that the modern articles outdo the ancient ones.
