Abstract

The influences of addition of sunlight,UV light and oxalic acid on the treatment of wastewater containing m-cresol by Fenton reagent were studied. The results showed that combining process enhanced obviously the catalytic degradation of m-cresol.The removal rate of COD of wastewater containing mcresol could be raised from 58.9%(by Fenton reagent) to 60.9%,71.7%,71.8% and 81.7%,respectively by sunlight/Fenton reagent,UV/Fenton reagent, oxalic acid /Fenton reagent and UV/oxalic acid /Fenton reagent.
