Abstract
Three blood dots with paper from heels of 12527 Uygur neonates and fingers of 436 children under twelve years old who lag in growth were collected.Concentration of TSH in the blood dots paper with ELISA assay was tested, then proceed to screen and diagnosis Congenital Hypothyroidism in Uygur neonates. We found 17 cases Congenital Hypothyroidism in the screening. The morbidity rate of neonatal Congenital Hypothyroidism in Uygur is 1.357‰,It is four times as much as the morbidity rate of neonatal Congenital Hypothyroidism in inland(0.200~0.333‰).It is necessary to build screening network around district health center for women and children or center hospital and carry out neonatal screening and treatment of Congenital Hypothyroidism in Uygur and other nations in Xinjiang.
