National Security Analysis in the International Society

With diversification of the international society,national security research has taken on more diversified elements.Yet as a traditional research subject,its primary importance has never diminished.National security research has three major branches,namely the security dilemma system as concerns the realists,the institutional security system as the chief focus of the liberalists,and the interactive security system as the preoccupation of the constructivists.These three lines of national security research have different emphases and advantages,and should not substitute for one another.Thus it is inferred that the most convincing theory to national security has to integrate or be compatible to all of the above three.Judging from a panoramic view of national security in the international society,national strength is the most important variable in the national security study.Thus the theory of national security is best set up in a center-periphery framework based on the national strength contrast.The theory serves to analyse the reality of national security through explaining the relationship between the national security system and national security,the role of center nations in security system and the flowing of security variables.
