Translation Method and Strategy Analysis and Their Relations

Human beings began their cultural communications as early as they had cultures,and communications among different cultures can be realized by means of translation,in this sense translation also has a long history.In the course of translation,many translation methods and strategies appeared such as domestication and foreignization,literal translation and free translation and so forth.It is rather important to introduce and analyze these common translation methods and strategies and point out their inner relations for those students who have just began to probe into translation.On the one hand,there are some distinctions among these translation methods and strategies;on the other hand,there are also some associations among them.Based on both language itself and the cultural factors,a conclusion was made at last: free translation should be included by domestication,and in the same way literal translation should be included by foreignization.
