Abstract
The status of soybean isoflavones studies was reviewed in two aspects, i.e. ,the distribution and structure of isoflavones in the nature,as well as the metabolism and physiological activity in vitro. The problems on low content of isoflavones, less active components and the poor absorption of active components were discussed and the future for isoflavones studies was pointed out.
