Abstract

In this paper, for analysis of a 3-cylinders gasoline engine cylinder head,3-D finite element analytical models of the cylinder head and the relevant parts are established.Contact boundary conditions were employed by using finite element analysis software ANSYS.The stress and displacement fields of the cylinder head were obtained via three dimensional nonlinear finite element method. The couple effectiveness of thermal and mechanical load was considered. The calculation result reveals that the displacement of the cylinder head is mainly caused by joint blots on the pretension tightening condition.Peak fire pressure affect a little on mechanical-thermal stress and displacement fields of the cylinder head on the power condition.Due to effects of thermal load, the cylinder head's mechanical-thermal stresses are very different with mechanical stresses. Many parts of the cylinder head's stresses change greatly, the crack of low cycle fatigue is easy to appear in these places.
