Microsurgical and endovascular treatment for aneurysms of anterior circulation

Objective To improve the diagnostic and therapeutic level for aneurysms of anterior circulation and discuss the effect of microsurgical and endovascular techniques. Methods A retrospective analysis had been made of 13 patients with aneurysms of anterior circulation treated with microsurgery and 11 patients treated with endovascular embolization from July 1998 to July 2001. The results were evaluated according to Glasgow outcome scale(GOS). Results Outcome was good in 19 cases, moderate disability in 1 case, poor in 2 cases and 2 cases were dead. Conclusion It is helpful to improve therapeutic efficacy, to decrease complication, and to reduce mortality rate for aneurysms of anterior circulation when proper therapy plan is carried out timely according to the specific state of each patient.
