Virtual Water Strategy-A New Idea to Solve the Problem of Water Shortage in Arid Zone

Virtual is a new concept in the realm of resources management presented in recent years.The used in the production process of an agricultural or industrial product is called the water contained in the product.Virtual is a new concept to solve the problem in shortage of resources and safety problems,is the production of goods and services required in the quantity;In this article,the condition of resources in arid zone is analyzed,and the virtual strategy was compared with other factors such as saving,water transportation and emigration.Finally,this paper ended with some suggestions such as strengthening the virtual research,establishing the regional policy supporting system,innovating the management mechanisms,applying the virtual strategy in northwest arid China.
