Abstract
Oil spill identification was an important technological means to determine the source of oil spill accidents. This paper describes the identification methods of 16 oil samples by fluorescence spectroscopy. The result shows that fluorescence spectroscopy is quite efficient to identified different types of oil samples but vague to distinguish the same oil type because of similar spectrum characteristic. Therefore, fluorescence spectroscopy can be used for primaries in oil spill identification
