Abstract

A new method for the determination of trace Pb based on nanometer-size TiO_2 separation and preconcentration with FAAS was proposed. The optimum conditions for adsorption were studied in detail, and the test included adsorption kinetics, effect of pH on adsorption ratio, and adsorption capacity.Under the optimum conditions,Pb~2+ could be adsorbed and eluted quantitatively. The static adsorption capacity of Pb~2+ on nanometer-size TiO_2 was 17.90 mg/g,and 0.1 mol/L HNO_3+0.1 mol/L CH_3COOH was sufficient for complete elution. The detection limit of this method for Pb~2+ was 2.57 ng/mL,and relative standard deviation was 2.5%(n=11,c=0.10 μg/mL).The recoveries of Pb~2+ ranged from 94.5% to 102.5%.The proposed method has been applied for the determination of trace Pb in water samples with satisfactory results.
