Abstract
With mobile IPv6,mobile nodes can talk to other nodes while moving from one subnet to another, and still remain the home of addresses. But,the handover latency will cause disruption between applications which require QoS,such as VoIP. It's the key to mobile IPv6 applications that reduce the handover latency. After describing handovers and stateful stateless address autoconfigurations, this paper deduces the latency of handovers, and proposes the fast handover based on stateful and stateless address autoconfiguration, then detailes the principle. The method can reduce latency of addresses reconfiguration in MIPv6,and increase the performance of handovering.
