Abstract

After Wang Mang usurped the throne, based on the Confucian policies to run the country,he carried out a series of measures to change the political and economic systems. But all caused severe social disorders instead of the expected prosperous society, which result in the all-round social class's dissatisfaction. In such a situation, people from all walks of life hope to see the reestablishment of Western Han and thus the public opinion about the reminiscence of Han dynasty facilitate the set-up of Eastern Han dynasty. So the public opinion about the reminiscence of Han is not simply the recall of the Western Han,but a high-level rational return to political systems in Han dynasty because the establishment of political ruling patterns in Han is modeled to be followed in the later dynasties.
