Abstract
The insect community composition and structure were investigated in 3 different tea gardens in Puchuan Village of Tengchong County from July to August which was the growing season of tea in the year of 2008 in Yunnan province. The results showed that,a total of 60 insect species were recorded. In the ecological tea garden, the species numbers, diversity and evenness index of insect communities were higher and dominance index was lower than those in common tea gardens.Diversity is closely related to stability, more diversity leads to better stability. The results provide the theoretic basis for the sustainable pest management in tea garden.
