The Avenue of the Combination of the Traditional Architecture with the Contemporary Architecture

The paper reviews the architecture's activities of the combination of the traditional architecture with the contemporary architecture since the modernist architecture came into China.The aim of this paper is to explore a new path to promote the modernization of Chinese traditional architecture to a fairly high level.It is concluded that the right way is to start with the space and the form,using the abstract means to express the national traits and gain the international approval.In addition,the Chinese architects should strengthen the self-cultivation and research the national architectural culture through personal experience.It is sure that with the efforts of Chinese architects our country will open up a new avenue to combine the traditional architecture with the contemporary architecture both in theory and practice.
