Study on cold hardiness of Bougainvillea ssp.during the overwintering in Shanghai

Abstract

The cold hardiness of 4 Bougainvillea ssp.varieties during the overwintering in Shanghai was studied in this paper.The cold injury course is different even on the same place.By comparison of overwintering-index and electric conductivity,the difference in cold hardiness was determined.The order from strong hardiness to weak is Bougainvillea glabra,Bougainvillea glabra cv.sanderiana,Bougainvillea spectabilis cv.crimson Lake.and Bougainvillea spectabilis cv.variegata.
