Abstract

The extraction capacity of U by different concentrations of TRPO/kerosene and the third-phase phemonena have been studied. 50% TRPO/kerosene can extract 60 g/L U without third-phase at room temperature and the loaded solvent has favorable extraction ability to Np(Ⅳ),Pu(Ⅳ),Am(Ⅲ),Eu(Ⅲ)and Tc(Ⅶ). The results show that 50% TRPO/kerosene possibly can recover U and Pu from spent fule and at the same time remove the minor actinides and Tc.It is necessary to remove Zr before the TRPO extraction because TRPO can strongly extract Zr and the third-phase will occur at the low Zr concentration.
